HOW WE WORK
Point One Design, Ltd. is the result of a merger of two highly respected firms, Theys Associates, founded in 1978, and Point One Design, Inc., founded in 1993. Offices are located in both the Cleveland and Columbus areas with resources to serve clients throughout Ohio and the Midwest.
Point One Design, Ltd., is committed to the responsible design of appropriate, energy efficient mechanical and electrical systems based on all technological and practical features of a project. No client or project is too small for our best professional service and every project deserves and receives the participation of a firm principal from beginning to end. Our project teams are formed using specifically qualified personnel and are maintained throughout construction to provide continuity from initial design through commissioning of projects. We are a professional consulting business that emphasizes the service aspect of providing clients with accurate, appropriate, timely and friendly design and consulting services. The concepts of personal responsibility and firm accountability are fundamental to us as we strive to operate our business with integrity.
Our company began producing construction documents on AutoCAD in 1985, making us one of the pioneers in computer-assisted drafting. Today we continue to utilize upgraded versions of AutoCAD and have numerous stations in operation. Four current stations are also equipped with Autodesk REVIT building design software. Our two offices utilize a single server and networked telephone and data systems to ensure a seamless process of design and drafting as well as a convenient communication procedure for our clientele.
Point One Design, Ltd., constantly strives to learn and utilize the most recent technological developments without disregarding the “industry standard” engineering systems and concepts. While working from both of these perspectives, we are able to offer the most appropriate solutions to each unique project. “Responsible design” involves all of the technical and functional characteristics of facility construction and operation including space use, cost, code compliance, energy efficiency, maintenance, and operating costs, as well as owner and architect preferences and requirements.
